Running With The Devils:
New Jersey Devils
Tampa Bay Lightning
Detroit Red Wings
New York Rangers
New York Islanders
Welcome back Devils Fans! Im on a "back-to-back" blog swing once again this evening as well as tomorrow night. Tonight on Second Look, I will be reviewing the Devils' recent 3 game win streak which began on March 27th in a shootout victory over the Blackhawks at home in Newark followed up to a scoring frenzy in another home game against the Bolts wrapped up by a playoff berth-clinching victory over the Canes down south in Raleigh the day after an open practice/autograph session in Newark. The game against the Rangers on Tuesday one was a BIG responding game to their previous loss against the Rags back on February 27th. New Jersey showed both New York and the league that they are not a team to be messed with. If you can beat the 1st ranked team, weather its in the East or the West, you've presented enough evidence that you're a contender; if, in New Jersey's case, you can manage to win 3 of 5, I feel you've got what it takes to be a real powerhouse and ...

New Jersey Devils center Jacob Josefson will be sidelined 4-to-6 weeks after breaking his left wrist in a game against the New York Islanders.
It wasn't immediately clear when Josefson was hurt during Tuesday night's game. He played six shifts in the first period and two more in the second, but didn't return to the ice for the third.
The Devils, who will begin the Stanley...
Though they missed them last season, the playoffs are nothing new to the Devils. They are back and looking to make a run at the Stanley Cup. While they’ve been a staple in the playoffs since the new millennium started, the Devils have had relatively short appearances in recent postseasons.Since New Jersey’s last Stanley Cup title, 2003, they’ve made it out of the first round...
Travis Zajac broke a tie early in the second period with a power-play goal and the New Jersey Devils inched closer to nailing down at least the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference with a 3-1 victory over the New York Islanders on Tuesday night.
Patrik Elias added a goal and an assist, and Ilya Kovalchuk scored into an empty net in the final minute to help the Devils win their third...
Despite playing very well when given the opportunity, Johan Hedberg has not received the minutes he deserves over the second half of the season. With that said, he will start tomorrow against the Islanders as the Devils prepare themselves for the post-season. Here are some notes on that, among other Devils related topics.
- First off, I think Pete DeBoer is making the right decision...
New Jersey Devils center Jacob Josefson suffered a fractured left wrist during the first period of Tuesday's game against the Atlantic Division rival New York Islanders.
Josefson is expected to miss four to six weeks with the injury, the team announced on its Twitter feed.
The 20th overall pick of the 2009 draft, Josefson collected two goals, seven assists and six penalty minutes...
from Rich Chere of the Star-Ledger, If Ilya Kovalchuk leads the Devils in scoring this season, it will be the fifth time in his career he has topped his team in that category (four times in Atlanta). He is among some prolific scorers who have never led the league in scoring:
Player, Rank (all-time), Points, Stole his thunder
Mark Messier, Second, 1,887, Wayne Gretzky
Tonight closes out the season series between the New York Islanders and the New Jersey Devils. The Devils would look to gain 2 more points to help aid the cushion between themselves and the 7th placed Ottawa Senators. New York is a very dangerous team this time of year, considering their role in the playoff picture as a spoiler. The Islanders being officially eliminated Saturday...
Last night the New Jersey Devils shutout the Carolina Hurricanes 5-0 in Carolina and punched their ticket to the 2011-12 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Here are some notes on last night's game, among other things.
- First off, congratulations to Devils Head Coach Pete DeBoer on getting his team into the playoffs for the first time in his young NHL coaching career. He's a very good...
The New Jersey Devils are returning to the playoffs, and they're playing like they could do some damage once the postseason begins.
