Pro Sports Daily:
John Tortorella wouldn’t go there because it’s too early to blame the officials. Maybe a hint though.
While the Vancouver Canucks coach is being rightfully lauded for again splitting up Henrik and Daniel Sedin — leading to the tying and winning goals Tuesday in Philadelphia — his ability to improve a 27th-ranked power play that has scored just twice in 20 chances is more daunting.
The Canucks drew one power play against the Flyers and aren’t doing enough to draw infractions. And drawing them means drawing the attention of the referees — a long-running saga between the Canucks and league officials.
The Canucks rank 20th in power-play opportunities but their aggressive forecheck and outmanning the opposition in the offensive zone are well-suited to getting more power plays.
“It’s not my call — it’s the refs’ call” Tortorella said Wednesday following practice in Philadelphia.
“I don’t think we’re being lazy we’re moving our feet out and we got stronger as game went on. Last n

No sooner did Henrik Sedin line up at practice Wednesday with Ryan Kesler and Chris Higgins — the trio ignited the third-period comeback win in Philadelphia — then Tortorella stopped the media short of coming up with a nickname for the new line. Even though the Sedins have embraced the changes.

Stanton Scores! from Sedin and Sedin…Ok, I’m sure not even Ryan Stanton himself would say before the season he would expect to be hearing that.

After an up and down start to the season the Canucks...

The Flyers are reportedly making calls to inquire about Henrik and Daniel Sedin, hockey insider Josh Rimer is reporting.
Here’s an excert from Rimer’s article:
Speaking of the Canucks, Negotiations have not been going well with the Sedin’s and Mike Gillis. A little birdy told me that Gillis has been receiving phone calls from other NHL GM’s about the Sedin’s services, and...
The Vancouver Canucks don’t exactly have an identity crisis but they have yet to really forge one under new coach John Tortorella.
You half expected Tortorella might have his players run those famous Rocky Steps here in the City of Brotherly Love following Monday’s noon-hour practice at the University of Pennsylvania.
After all Rocky Balboa was all about guts and determination...
