Ottawa Senators defenseman Sergei Gonchar is listed as questionable against the Vancouver Canucks Saturday.
Gonchar left Thursday’s game against the New Jersey Devils with a upper-body injury. The Senators had the day off Friday and the team did not give any updates on Gonchar’s status.
Gonchar has two goals and 17 assists for Ottawa this season.

I NOW Consider Daniel Alfredsson A Hall Of Famer
One longterm question that I like to think about is which current NHL players will make the Hockey Hall of Fame and at which point in their career have they cemented that honor regardless of what happens in the remainder of their career. I think Daniel Alfredsson has recently surpassed this threshold.
Alfredsson is the first line right winger with the Ottawa Senators. He currently...

A little late to the party on this one but during last night's Binghamton Senators game versus the Norfolk Admirals, Patrick Wiercioch took a puck to the throat during the first period. The Senators prospect was assisted off the ice and was immediately transported to the Lourdes Hospital.
Following the game, the Binghamton Senators released the following statement:

Is Filatov Playing Tonight? Nyet.
Hard to believe that when the above photograph was taken, it'd be representative of Nikita Filatov's chances of playing under Paul MacLean. Anyways, here's the last few seconds of audio from this morning's media scrum.
So there you have it: Nikita Filatov had no chance of getting into tonight's lineup. In other words, nice knowing you Niki. Of...

Video: Foligno Scores One-Handed Beauty
Nick Foligno has inserted his name on the ballot for goal of the year. Foligno picked up a pass in the neutral zone and beat a Washington Capitals defense man along the boards and then dangled through the slot. After powering through the slot Foligno cut below the goal line and reached back with one hand to tuck the puck past Capitals goaltender, Tomas Vokoun. The Senators went on...
Feeling Shame in Ottawa
Ottawa should feel shame as they sat out a good part of their 4-1 loss to Vancouver in the penalty box. Vancouver, with the best power play in the league, made Ottawa pay for their many mistakes, and this time, they were not little. Ottawa tried to play a Byfuglien style game against the whole Vancouver squad, trying to get physical and under their skin, and only wound up tripping...

It’s 2011 Vancouver Canucks vs. Ottawa Senators (West vs. East) smack talk time. Next up is the Sens, and Richard has 5 reasons he can’t stand their hockey team. It seems strange but the Ottawa Senators don't usually sell out. The problem is they have no identity. What about their fateful decision to keep Wade Redden over Zdeno Chara. How's that look now?
Did the Ottawa Senators win the Dany Heatley trade?
Bryan Murray has been summarily roasted for his work in the summer of 2009, when he sent Dany Heatley to the San Jose Sharks for the seemingly paltry return of Milan Michalek, Jonathan Cheechoo, and a 2nd round pick.
It was a terribly handled situation from beginning to end, what with every ounce of it playing out publicly, from Heatley's initial trade request to Murray'...
Ian Esplen: Sens try and Intimidate, Canucks retaliate- with Goals that is
Follow me on By TwitterButtons.com
Last night the Senators tried to do everything in their power to play like the Bruins did last June. They tried to turn a hockey game into a street fight and they easily beat by the Canucks for trying to do so. This game was never in doubt for me, because anytime the other team puts Chris Neil on the ice for more than 12 minutes, I know they...
