Ottawa Senators right wing Bobby Butler has been placed on injured reserve with a groin injury.
After a promising rookie campaign in which he collected 10 goals and 11 assists in 36 games, Butler has been held off the scoresheet in two games this season.
Under new coach Paul MacLean, Ottawa has limped out to a 1-5-0 mark and yielded seven goals in two of its last three games.
The struggling Senators will vie for their second win of the season when they host the Winnipeg Jets (1-3-1) on Thursday.
