MONDAYS STORYLINES: The Wild started the New Year welcoming three familiar faces back to the ice. Devin Setoguchi (lower body), Casey Wellman (upper body) and Clayton Stoner (lower body) all returned to the ice. They were welcomed back with an intense practice that lasted almost 80 minutes. Setoguchi, who has missed 12 games, said he felt good out there. The skilled forward would be a welcome addition to a Wild lineup that has struggled offensively. The Wild have only scored 24 goals in the last 12 games without Setoguchi. On the season, the Wild are averaging 2.28 goals per game, 29th in the NHL. Mike Yeo said the Wild could use him right now but they dont want to rush him back. That being said, he thought Setoguchi looked good in his first full practice with the team.I thought he looked really good today. I didnt think his conditioning looked like it was an issue and when you see him out there and you see his skill level, and the fact of the matter is we have been missing some of that. We would be excited to get him back, said Yeo.Setoguchi would like to be back and said there is a definite chance he plays Wednesday against the Canucks. There is a good chance I could be playing but for now we will see how it feels tomorrow after practice again and re-evaluate from there, added Setoguchi. Yeo said he also liked how Stoner and Wellman looked today. Stoner who has missed four games said he felt good after his first full practice with the team. Stoner said he will also re-evaluate after tomorrow. With the Wild carrying a plethora of defensemen right now, there isnt a reason to rush Stoner back until he is ready. Stoner will be one of the nine defensemen the Wild will carry on their two-game trip to Vancouver and Calgary.HE SAID IT: It wasnt just the work and the sweat, we got a lot accomplished as far as the tactical parts that we needed to work on tooI like on days like this, number one it is one thing to skate but it is another to have to battle. It is another thing to have to go out there and execute when you get tired too. These are game situations and these are things we need more of. Yeo on todays practice
