The NHL has yet to release a full schedule for the season, but we already know a little bit on how the Sharks will open their 48-game season. CSN’s Kevin Kurz informs us that the Sharks will likely kick off their season with at least a back-to-back in Canada, beginning on Jan. 20 in Calgary against the Flames, followed by a visit to the Oilers in Edmonton the very next night. The Sharks were 1-0-1 separately in both Calgary and Edmonton last season. The full revised schedule is expected to be released in the coming days, after the players union ratifies the new collective bargaining agreement. [via CSN]

Justin Braun doubtful for start of season?

Sharks defenseman Justin Braun appears doubtful to begin the season healthy enough to play, according to CSN’s Kevin Kurz.  Braun broke a bone in his wrist in December while playing in Finland during the lockout.
