Tampa Bay has added the Central Hockey League Brampton Beast to its list of minor-league affiliates according to the NHL.com. The Beast are getting ready for their first season. The Lightning haven’t had a CHL affiliate since the Colorado Eagles in 2009-10. However they also work with the ECHL Florida Everblades and AHL Syracuse Crunch. “We take our developmental system very seriously” Lightning GM Steve Yzerman said. “The Beast organization has all the ingredients to be a successful hockey franchise including operating in a strong hockey market.” Meanwhile the San Jose Sharks announced that they have renewed their affiliation with the ECHL San Francisco Bulls for another campaign. The Sharks started working with the Bulls in 2012-13.

Cam Gore: Player Evaluations: Brad Stuart & Tyler Kennedy

Over the upcoming weeks I will be evaluating the players on the Sharks roster who have played in twenty games or more. Players will be given a number between 1-20 for their high, low, and overall. The high being how well they play at their best and the low is the opposite; the overall is what we get out of a player on the season long average. Brad Stuart re-joined the Sharks last summer and...

Ryan Garner: Rajala Swallowed Up By The Perfect Storm

Greetings Oiler fans, and thanks for having me. You’ll get to know me over time, but I was born in Lethbridge, raised in Fort McMurray, and I’ve lived south of the border for the last 10 years. Sochi: high altitude = the Viagra Olympics?

I'm not sure if this is news to you, but it's news to me, and big news at that: while we've been arguing about Russia's anti-homosexuality laws (and Brian Burke rather elouqently detailed why, regardless of whether you agree or disagree with the "lifestlye" or "agenda" or ******************* your personal, political or religious beliefs guide you...

No Olympic orientation camp involves on-ice activites, but Hockey Canada’s still taking flak

The issue of contract insurance for NHL players participating in Olympic orientation camps is such a problem in terms of cost that Sport-Express's Andrei Kuznetsov reports that even the Russians aren't skating today or tomorrow in Sochi, but ahead of the Canadian Olympic orientation camp in Calgary from Sunday the 25th to Wednesday the 28th (and the U.S. camp in Arlington...
