The San Jose Sharks recalled goaltender Antero Niittymaki from Worcester of the American Hockey League on Friday.
Niitymaki has spent the past 10 days with Worcester on a conditioning stint after recovering from his surgery in September.
The 31-year-old Niitymaki went 1-2 with a 3.38 goals-against average and .878 save percentage at Worcester.
He appeared in 24 games with San Jose last season, posting a 12-7-3 with a .896 save percentage and 2.71 goals-against average.
