The San Jose Sharks signed left wing Brad Winchester to a one-year deal on Monday.
Winchester earned a contract after being brought into training camp on a tryout. He posted a goal and an assist with a team-high 18 penalty minutes in five preseason games.
The seven-year veteran spilt time with St. Louis and Anaheim last season, notching 10 goals, six assists and 114 penalty minutes in 76 games.
Winchester, a second-round pick in 2000, has 31 goals and 27 assists for his career.
