San Jose Sharks captain Joe Thornton told ESPN.com that he plans to play in Switzerland as the NHL lockout continues Monday.

Thornton will return to HC Davos, the same club he played for during the 2004-05 work stoppage. Thornton has a home in Switzerland.

Logan Couture, the Sharks' only All-Star from last season, is close to signing with Geneva in the Swiss League, according to NHL Home Ice. Couture scored 31 goals for the Sharks last season.
