Shawn Thornton had until 4pm EST today to appeal the 15 game suspension the NHL handed down Saturday. It looks like that Thornton will go ahead and appeal said suspension.  Per a source close to Shawn Thornton, he's officially filed a written appeal of the 15 game suspension by the NHL. #BruinsTalk — Joe Haggerty (@HackswithHaggs) December 16, 2013 An appeal doesn't automatically mean that games will get cut off of the suspension.
