Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby and Colorado Avalanche center Matt Duchene along with several other NHL players are in Vail, Colorado for some high-altitude training.

Crosby and Duchene along with Steven Stamkos, Daniel Cleary and Erik Johnson are all training with Andy O'Brrien at Dobson Arena in Vail.

Crosby has trained in Vail before.

“We come up here for the amazing facilities and resources but most of all the altitude. We’re at close to 8500 feet which puts us in amazing condition,” Duchene told The Denver Post. “It’s obviously a very secluded area, which is great for us to be able to relax and bond as pro hockey players. The biggest reason we did it right now is to have skates at a very high tempo with a ton of competitiveness. It will help us stay as close to the top of our game as possible, so we’re ready to go when the puck finally does drop.”

Crosby and Duchene also spent the summer with O'Brien in Los Angeles during the offseason.
