Bleed Black & Gold:
For someone that has only played in 22 games this season he has received two of these awards. During his first comeback in December he was named the ‘First Star’ of the Week. This time around he received the ‘Third Star’ after getting 6 points (3 goals, 3 assists) in the final three Penguin’s wins. Crosby finished the season with 37 total point (8 goals, 29 assists) in 22 games played. The best part is 3 of those 8 goals in the last week, which means to me he’s finally back in the groove and hitting his stride which is perfect timing for the playoffs. He finished the season averaging a ridiculous 1.68 points per game. It certainly is nice to have him back!

With Sidney Crosby back from a concussion that wiped out huge chunks of this season and last, the Pittsburgh Penguins enter the NHL’s Stanley Cup playoffs as the 9-2 betting favorites at Bovada to hoist the Cup for the first time since 2009. Last year, the Pens entered the playoffs without both Crosby (concussion) and Evgeni Malkin (knee injury) and were eliminated in the first...
The conversation in question starts at about 4:27 of the video. Sidney Crosby is an awesome hockey, but Torts is right, Crosby and Malkin are two of the biggest whiners in the NHL. Frankly, I would like to see Don Cherry give the Sedin twins in Vancouver the same lectures as well.
ProSportsDaily Staff ---- Don Cherry joined a growing number of hockey personalities who are...
Who are you picking in your Quest for the Cup? The decision is an important one. Even if you're just focusing on the Penguins, who do you take? Evgeni Malkin seems like the obvious choice, but what about Sidney Crosby? Or Marc-Andre Fleury? Kris Letang would look pretty good on defense too. It's definitely tough. How do you maximize your points with a player from...
Let me start by saying that I am not a believer in conspiracy theories, and that I'm usually the first to speak up in defense of Gary Bettman and the NHL whenever somebody starts the "Sidney Crosby and the Penguins are the league's pet project" or the "Gary Bettman's favorite son" talk.
As much as it pains me to even write the words "in defense...

It will be, we hope, anything but cold.
“We don’t like each other,” said Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby about the Philadelphia Flyers, “so that’s the way it is. You can dissect all you want, but, really, when it comes down to it, we...
Phoenix Coyotes goaltender Mike Smith was named the NHL's First Star of the Week on Monday.
Smith extended his shutout streak to 234 minutes, 25 seconds before yielding a goal to St. Louis during the first period on Friday. He stopped 31 of 32 shots that night and made 23 saves on Saturday as Phoenix claimed the Pacific Division title.

Brian Burke has joined the growing group of people who have decided to take shots at the Penguins in order to deflect attention from their own failures.

"What's the Pittsburgh model?"
Brian Burke snapped that question back to the media during a postseason press conference on Tuesday, examining the carcass of the 2011-12 Toronto Maple...
Brian Burke. It’s that simple. The man is truly awesome. And his latest interaction with the media lives up to that hype I just placed on him.
“The Pittsburgh model? My ass,” Burke said when asked about Pittsburgh’s post-lockout rebuild.
“They got a lottery. They won a (expletive) lottery (in 2005 for Sidney Crosby) and they got the best player in the game. Is that...
The Vancouver Canucks carry the NHL's best record into the Stanley Cup playoffs for the second year in a row. The New York Rangers are on top of the Eastern Conference for the first time since they won it all in 1994.
But the team many are picking to carry the Cup this year is the Pittsburgh Penguins - the No. 4 seed in the East that is supremely dangerous with healthy stars...
Sidney Crosby braced himself as New York Rangers defenseman Dan Girardi lowered his shoulder before checking Crosby into the corner boards early in the penultimate regular-season game on Thursday.
Crosby lay on the ice briefly -- long enough for some Pittsburgh Penguins fans to grow concerned about their captain.
"There is still a section of fans who think he'll get re...
