Detroit Red Wings forward Patrick Eaves is scheduled to have surgery on his broken jaw Monday and is expected to be out six to eight weeks.
Eaves was taken off the ice on a stretcher late in Saturday night's game against Nashville after he was struck near the right ear by Roman Josi's slap shot.

Red Wings right winger Patrick Eaves got up close and personal with a Roman Josi slap shot on Saturday night. He took it in the right side of the head right under his helmet. Eaves, who has had a tough time cracking the lineup and has only played in ten of the Wings 22 games, went down immediately.
