When the San Jose Sharks were eliminated from the playoffs in the first round, GM Doug Wilson expressed his frustration with another early exit. But so far, he's resisted the temptation to completely rework the San Jose roster.
Longtime Red Wings executive Jimmy Devellano thinks patience is the right solution in San Jose. According to the San Jose Mercury News, Devellano chatted with Wilson in Las Vegas and shared his advice.
"Just tweak it," Devellano told Wilson. "My advice is just to hang tough. See if you can't add a player here or there. You might have to eliminate a guy but don't break it up."
Former Sharks assistant coach Todd Richards agrees. Now the head coach in Minnesota, Richards was recently asked by Sporting News whether or not he thinks the Sharks need serious changes to get over their playoff struggles.
