Vladimir Sobotka, the scrappy 3rd line center for the Blues, is headed back to the injured list for the second time in the past few weeks. This time Sobotka is out with an ankle injury that he suffered in yesterday’s practice when Alex Steen ripped a slapper and hit Vlad right on the skate.
Unless you were there you didnt see the shot so this is all speculation but it sounds a lot like the injury that Kent Huskins suffered in Calgary back in October but not as serious. Sobotka already missed 2 games at the end of last month when he took a puck to the face towards the end of a game.
The team has said that Sobotka’s injury is not very serious and will not require surgery. The will re-evaluate the the ankle when the swelling goes down completely in a week or so. Hopefully Sobotka will be back before the end of the calendar year but while he is out, Chris Porter and recently recalled Evgeny Grachev will both be in as will tough guy Ryan Reaves (depending on the opponent)...
