Have you ever wondered who would think, "Boy, I'd so much rather be the guy who picks up the dead duck thrown from the stands during a hockey game?" The answer, we imagine, is the guy who has to pick up the rubber phallus thrown on the ice in celebration of a hat trick.
According to Gerard Yee on Twitter, somebody at the Montreal Canadiens' 7-3 home victory over the Winnipeg Jets (a) brought a ***** to the game and (b) was compelled to throw it on the ice after Lars Eller tallied his third of four goals on the night. Huh, usually you see those things when you have trouble scoring …
Fans were confused at first, mistaking something red, stiff, immobile and deep in the zone for Hal Gill.
Soon after, Brian Gionta was then seen frantically fleeing the ice, screaming something about a sandworm from "Dune" attacking him. (Yes, that was a height joke. Moving on…)
Whether or not it was a sex toy doesn't really matter. They never said "Play It Again, Sam...

Well, after many dismal performances at home, the Bell Centre faithful certainly heard a different tune to start 2012.
See, get the pun? Retired after the 2004-05 lockout, the Canadiens brought back the goal song which animated celebrations at the turn of the millennium.
Clearly, Lars Eller enjoyed the song, as he made it play four times in the evening, capping off his performance...
Lars Eller capped an evening imaginable to very few, and capable by even fewer.
If there’s a team who needs to eat up wins now more than ever — given the coaching controversy — it’s the Montreal Canadiens.

It sure looks like a ***** in this picture, and I wouldn’t put it past a Montreal Canadiens fan to bring such an item to a game in anticipation of one of the Habs netting a hat trick. I just hope that it wasn’t in slightly used condition when it made it’s way to the ice.
Whether or not the red, phallic-shaped item found amongst the hats strewn on the ice following Montreal...

So, unless you were hiding under a rock last night, most every Canadiens fan is now well aware of the unreal performance by Lars Eller last night against the Winnipeg Jets.
Not only did he score 4 goals and add an assist, but he actually gave his fans and teammates something to smile about.
While it can be argued whether or not this will go...
After Lars Eller completed his hat trick in Montreal last night the ice was littered with hats in celebration. Unfortunately someone didn’t have one and decided to throw something else.
That’s a freakin *****!
P.S, Reminds me of the time some college kids threw one onto the court of Rose Hill Gym during a Fordham v St Bonnies game back in the 90′s. Wink Wink
The siren had sounded, the cheers lingered, and Lars Eller skated out as first star of the night. He tossed pucks into the stands, but he remained longer than most would, and he applauded the adoring and delighted fans. He smiled and clapped again, and when he finally left the ice, in the corridor he jumped in the air.
Lars Eller had a right to smile and linger and jump. Because...

It is time to hop back into it today with a little Fantasy Hockey ONE. First up, let's take a look back at what happened last night with our FANTASY POTN first and then Ian Gooding will give us his Pick Six for the night.
