Shane Doan is staying with the only franchise he's ever known. FOXSportsArizona.com's Craig Morgan confirmed with a source close to the negotiations that Doan, who has spent his entire career with the Coyotes franchise, has re-signed with the team. A press conference is expected to be held Friday afternoon. The contract is believed to be a four-year deal worth approximately 21 million and including a 2 million signing bonus. The 35-year-old Doan agreed to a tentative deal with the Coyotes last week pending the completion of the team's sale to prospective owner Greg Jamison. Jamison has yet to complete the purchase, though; the City of Glendale has been seeking to renegotiate the deal to account for the possibility of a league-imposed lockout, which is expected to begin Saturday night when the current collective bargaining agreement expires. Doan told XTRA Sports 910 last week that Jamison has the money to complete the purchase in escrow, but the status of the deal is unknown. Other than the Coyotes, it is not known which teams Doan ultimately considered. In his radio appearance, he said he had "between two and four" other offers he was mulling, but he did not specify. It is believed that he was offered more money than he accepted to return to Phoenix. Doan has been the Coyotes' captain since 2003. His 1,198 games are the most by any player in franchise history, and he ranks third in goals, assists and points.
