News came down on Thursday afternoon that Blackhawks forward Michael Frolik would be attending the Blackhawks Convention, which is set to take place this weekend.
While that might not seem like news considering the lengthy list of players and alumni already attending, Frolik is still a restricted free agent, without a new deal from the Blackhawks.
Frolik is one of two remaining restricted free agents the Hawks still have to lock up, with Chris Campoli the other one. Unlike Campoli, though, Frolik is not going to arbitration with the Hawks, as he was not eligible.
Just like Campoli, Frolik was acquired midseason by the Blackhawks last year, in the trade that also brought in Alexander Salak, who is likely going to be Chicago’s backup goaltender this season. He notched nine points in 28 regular season games with Chicago, but really broke out in the first round against Vancouver, with five points in the seven games.
