The Wall Street Journal has reported that Anschutz Company is selling Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG). AEG owns the Staples Center, Home Depot Center, O2 Arena, the Los Angeles Kings, Los Angeles Galaxy, and also has a 30% stake in the Lakers. Aside from that, AEG also has a finger in the newly built Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
AEG being for sale could further complicate an NFL team moving to Los Angeles. The sports entertainment group was the key entity being discussed as funding a new football stadium in Los Angeles.
Any teams that are owned by AEG have to get league approval before a new owner can step in.
