St. Louis Blues rookie goalie Jake Allen was very impressive during his first season with the St. Louis Blues and in fact, may have saved the team’s season.
When Jaroslav Halak went down to injury and when Brian Elliott was struggling early in the season, it was Allen who stepped between the pipes and stabilized the situation for the Blues between the pipes and won some very meaningful games.
Allen was 9-4 in 15 games played for the Blues and posted a 2.46 GAA and 90.5 percent save percentage while helping the Blues to their second consecutive playoff berth.
Allen won games and also made some outstanding plays, including the incredible stick save he made in a road game against the Calgary Flames.
Allen’s play was so impressive that it is up for TSN”s Play of the Year award. If you would like to support Allen, click here to vote.
