Dustin Brown and the Kings have destroyed their opponents in route to a trip to the Stanley Cup Finals. Hey everyone, tonight is game 1 of the 2012 Stanley Cup Finals between the Los Angeles Kings and New Jersey Devils.  The game begins at 8 pm eastern time on NBC.  The Kings enter the series with a 12-3 playoff record after defeating the top three seeds in the Western Conference all in five game series.  LA joins the 2006 Edmonton Oilers as the only NHL eight seed to every make it to the Stanley Cup Finals and would become the first to win.  The sixth seeded Devils have had a tougher time in getting to the finals, but still deserve to be here.  They took out third seeded Florida in seven games in the first round, then wiped out the Flyers in five games.  Their next test was the top seeded Rangers and they passed with flying colors, winning in six games.  Both teams have a good shot to win, and this should be a great series to watch. I believe history will be made this year and that the Kings will pull off the amazing feat of capturing the title from the eighth spot.  Jonathan Quick is a better goaltender than Marty Brodeur at this point in both their careers.  I also give LA the edge offensively.  It seems that for the Devils only the first and fourth lines are scoring, while the Kings have all their lines producing.  I do give New Jersey the edge defensively though.  Nonetheless this should be a very close series on the scoreboard and in the play.  I do think that LA will take home the cup in six games however, and Brodeur will have to try again next year. - Jonathan Duncan
