Dallas Stars defenseman Alex Goligoski is expected to be sidelined for four weeks after breaking his thumb during the first period of Friday's 3-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Playing in his first game against his former team, Goligoski blocked a shot during the first period and did not return.
Goligoski, 26, has collected two goals, four assists and two penalty minutes in 15 games this season.
In a corresponding move, Dallas recalled defenseman Philip Larsen from Texas of the American Hockey League.
