Tonight the Stars play their last home preseason game against the Colorado Avalanche, an opponent that is becoming very familiar. This marks the third time that the two teams have squared off against each other in only six days. I think after tonight the teams will be ready to see some new competition for a while as we close in on the season. Both teams have one more preseason game after this one, and then it is time to drop the puck on the regular season.
Today the Stars announced that Andrew Raycroft will be the team’s backup for the start of the coming season by sending his competition in Brent Krahn down to the Texas Stars. I agree with the move, seeing as Raycroft showed better through the preseason and has more experience. Tonight we should expect to see starter Kari Lehtonen play the whole game before resting until the start of the season. Also, look for the lineup for tonight’s game to be close to what we will see for the season. Neal-Richards-Eriksson will be the top line, and the expected second line tonight of Morrow-Ribs-Burish could definitely be the 2nd line to start the seasonl. But surprise Tomas Vincour will still be in the lineup tonight, trying to make a case for him to make the roster.
Go Stars, I am off to the game and will recap it for you guys later!
