Dallas Stars captain Brenden Morrow has resumed skating and is nearing a return from neck and back injuries."This is the first skate in about three weeks, and so far, no pain. I guess that's a good sign," Morrow said Thursday.Morrow has missed 14 games and hasn't played since Feb. 2 at San Jose. The 33-year-old said he's "nowhere near game shape" and will need at least a week before returning to the Stars' lineup.The left wing has eight goals and 14 assists in 43 games this season.

Dallas Stars left wing Eric Nystrom avoided league disciplinary action for a hit to the head of Pittsburgh defenseman Kris Letang in Wednesday night's game.
Nystrom received a two-minute roughing penalty on the play, which knocked Letang out of the game.
Stars general manager Joe Nieuwendyk said the league reviewed the play and saw no grounds for a suspension.
Stars captain Brenden Morrow, who has missed the last 14 games with neck and back issues, said he's "progressing pretty good" after resuming skating Thursday.
