Will Gaborik's groin hold out is the question.
On Monday, head coach John Tortorella said that the plan was to keep Brandon Dubinsky on the top line with Brad Richards and Marian Gaborik since two games were not enough for him to evaluate that threesome together. Apparently he's changed his mind, as Derek Stepan skated on line one with Richie and Gabby during practice today according to the Daily News, and it looks like that may be the trio we see take the ice Saturday against the Islanders at Nassau Coliseum.
As for the rest of the lines, they looked like this:
Stepan - Richards - Gaborik
Dubinsky - Anisimov - Callahan
Fedotenko - Boyle - Prust
Rupp - Christensen - Zuccarello
The first line like this lacks grit, but the skill and potential are certainly there. I think Stepan is someone who will definitely benefit from playing with two of the best players in the NHL, and will hopefully show us a little more than he has up until this point.
