Plenty of kids dream about playing like Alex Ovechkin, but few can pull off the moves that make them look like the Capitals star.
But Kyle Norman, a Stony Plain Atom AAA hockey player, did just that the other night.
Norman was carrying the puck from the center of the ice to the end line with defenders draped all over him. But as Norman made his way down the ice with the puck still on his stick, he made sure his final destination was past the goalie.
Just as Ovechkin has done many times in his NHL career, Norman corralled the puck in a backhand motion and whipped it into the netting as he fell onto his back. The crowd was blown away with the sensational goal.

What gives with Alexander Ovechkin’s wild and crazy, out-of-control hair during Thursday night’s tilt between the Washington Capitals and the Tampa Bay Lightning? Did he attempt to inject some electricity into his offensive game by sticking his finger a light socket? How Ovechkin looks in the screengrab resembles how I imagine Albert Einstein would have looked had he chose a...
Probably not, but how else do you explain this picture of Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin's hair standing on end during Thursday night's game against Tampa Bay?

It’s like each individual hair is trying to escape from Ovie’s skull.
This shot of Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin came during Thursday night’s game against the Lightning, which the Caps won 4-3. Now I know that hockey helmets can wreak havoc on a person’s hair, but this is all kinds of ridiculous. Heck, for all we know this was taken during warmups, making this look...

This screengrab, taken during last night’s game by @hockeybroph, is a fine addition to the “ovechkin hair” collection.
Don’t Break Out The Panic Button Just Yet In a shortened NHL season, the Washington Capitals and their fans have had little to remain positive about. While the Caps remain tied for last in the NHL in points (New York Islanders and Colorado Avalanche each have 9 as well) they are just 6 points out of the lead of the Southeast Division. Their play over the course of 13 games...
The semi-early returns are in on the market value of the Nicklas Backstrom Garden Gnome that was given away at the Feb. 5 game. The post More Fun With Nicklas Backstrom Gnomes appeared first on Capitals Outsider.
It's been a while since Andrew Gordon played for the Washington Capitals, but the few who saw it will forget when he kissed Marcus Johansson after scoring his first career goal during a victory on Dec 21, 2010. Thinking of that for some reason, and also Valentine's Day, inspired us to look up more video of NHL players kissing each other on the ice.The post Great Moments in...
Everything that could have went against the Lightning did as they lose their sixth straight after the loss to the Washington Capitals 4-3. The Lightning were outshot 12-6 in the first period but managed to go into the intermission tied at 1-1. But a bad attempt on a glove save by Mathieu Garon and turnovers once again led to goals for the opposition. In the third period, a shot...
The Florida Panthers had what they thought was a safe lead of 5-3 over the visiting Washington Capitals last night. They ended up blowing the lead and losing the game in overtime 6-5 to my Caps so I can't complain. One fan in particular wasn't very happy with his team losing the game and decided to hump the air behind the scrum that was going on down on the ice. No...
