Chris Phillips scored his first 2 goals of the season in his 1,000th game of his career and Jason Spezza scored the other two while the Predators couldn’t get enough offense for the second game in a row, dropping their second this week by a score of 4-3.
Losing two straight games for the first time since December 23rd and December 26th 2011, Nashville couldn’t press their attack hard enough tonight to overcome a speedy Senators team.
The Predators will be up against the defending Stanley Cup Champion Boston Bruins this upcoming Saturday for a noon tilt.
Powerplay – 1 for 5, 20%
Penalty Kill – 4 for 6, 67%
Best Play of the Game: Patric Hornqvist tips a puck up and over Alex Auld during a Predators powerplay, tying the game at two midway in the second period
Worst Play of the Game: Allowing Chris Phillips to get his first two goals of the season. Not taking anything away from Phillips and his 1,000th game this evening, however Nashville has a knack for allowing players that haven’t scored to find the back of the net.
My Three Stars:
#1: – Chris Phillips – 2 goals on his 1,000th game tonight. Can’t find anything wrong with it besides the aforementioned reason, but good on him for finding the net twice tonight
#2: – Jason Spezza – 2 goals and 1 assist. Question why he is an All-Star? I wouldn’t.
#3: – Martin Erat – 1 goal and 1 assist. Erat recorded his 100th multi point game of his career. He is the FIRST player in Predators history to do so.
