The New Jersey Devils agreed to terms with veteran right wing Petr Sykora on a one-year contract Wednesday.
The deal is worth $500,000 for Sykora, who has not played in the NHL since undergoing abdominal surgery in February 2010, when he was with the Minnesota Wild.
Sykora, 34, was brought in by the Devils on a tryout basis and scored a pair of goals in four preseason games.
There are still contracts to be negotiated, waiver bargains to grab, but forward Petr Sykora and defenseman Anton Stralman appear to have made the Devils as tryouts. Indications are that the Devils and Sykora are negotiating a contract, likely to be one year and less than $1 million. In addition...
