from Vicki Hall of the Calgary Herald, The latest rumour had former NHL coach Bob Hartley — a close friend of the Feaster family — coming to Calgary from Salzburg, Austria.
With the Heat riding an 11-game winning streak, the name of Abbotsford head coach Troy Ward is a constant in any conversation surrounding a replacement for the departed Brent Sutter.
“We’re in the process of collecting names,” Feaster said. “I have names on a list. John Weisbrod has names on that list. The same with Craig Conroy.”
Feaster has also entertained calls from coaches — and their agents — in search of a new job….
One possible candidate is Todd McLellan, head coach of the San Jose Sharks. Should GM Doug Wilson decide to go in a different direction, McLellan has family in the Calgary area and an impressive resume to boot.
Still, the Calgary brass continues to praise Ward — and the red-hot Heat — at every turn.
