PLAYERS: Taylor Hall
TEAMS: Edmonton Oilers
As expected, Taylor Hall will officially make his return from a shoulder injury tonight in Phoenix. This is great news for an Edmonton Oilers club that has come back to earth after jumping out to a fast start this season. Hall had 18 points in 22 games before getting hurt and is still fifth on the team in scoring, despite missing eight games this year. Just how much does the top pick in the 2010 draft mean to his club? The Oilers have gone 2-5 since he went down on OCt. 26 and the club is 5-0 in contests where he scores at least one goal this season. These stats provided by ESPN prove just how valuable Taylor Hall is to the Edmonton Oilers. Just having Hall's energy level back in the lineup should provide a boost to the Oilers offense.

Oilers Make A Decision

The Edmonton Oilers sent Magnus Paajarvi to the minors today, hoping some time in OKC will see him get his confidence and scoring touch back over the next few weeks. Paajarvi has always been the offensive third wheel among the gifted 10-11 rookies (Hall, Eberle, MP) but that's a helluva crowd to run with and he could be a productive player in his own right. 10-11 5x5/60Eberle...

#21-#30: The Rest

Despite having his finest AHL season, the clock is ticking on Alex Plante. He's a few months away from being waiver eligible, and his chances of being exposed are high; what's more, interest is unlikely to be close to Taylor Chorney level. Alex Plante's mobility is a major item.#21: D Alex Plante A solid year in OKC so far (his numbers suggest Plante has been their best...

Richard Cloutier: At What Point Do the Fans Matter?

Theo Peckham and Jeff Petry were awful. Devan Dubnyk looked great for most of the game, but let a back-breaking terrible goal that sank his team. The Oilers D as a group couldn't get out of their own zone with the puck. Ales Hemsky played disinterested hockey. Shawn Horcoff had Horcoff Hands. The line full of kids got pushed around, because no matter how talented they are, they...

Adam French: Looking for Consistency

After being thoroughly trounced by an Anaheim team that just plain wanted it more the Coyotes came back with a great hardworking team effort against the Oilers. The Coyotes won 4-2 in a game where Devan Dubnyk and Taylor Hall kept it from being the blowout it likely should have been. I really can't believe how good the Coyotes play after a loss. Their longest losing streak of...

Oilers-Coyotes Preview

Although they've been struggling, the Edmonton Oilers believe the next two games provides them with the chance to get back on track. Taylor Hall's return should also be a huge help. Hall is expected to return to the lineup after a seven-game absence when the Oilers visit the Phoenix Coyotes on Thursday night. Edmonton got off to a hot start this season, but is 6-11-1 in...

Trim Those Sideburns

As the Oilers continue to slide, news today that Paajarvi will follow Teubert to Oklahoma where hopefully he will find his confidence playing on one of the best teams in the AHL.On one hand its hard to argue with Paajarvi going down.
