If there wasn’t a hockey textbook on playing road games before, there is one now after the Anaheim Ducks defeated the Vancouver Canucks 4-2 at the Rogers Center.
Anaheim played a perfect road game while Jason Blake did the rest to pace the Ducks to their fifth win in the last six games.
Blake picked up two goals and an assist in the victory. Since Blake’s rejoined the Ducks, they’ve been surging in the standings. The 38 year-old has three goals in his last two games as Anaheim improved to 5-1-1 since he returned to the line-up.
The suddenly confident Ducks controlled the flow of the game from start to finish, out shooting the high-powered Canucks 34-23. New head coach Bruce Boudreau has instilled a an aggressive defensive system that allows the forwards to pressure the points, while the defenders collapse down low thus creating turnovers and odd-man rushes.
