from Eric Stephens of Ducks Blog,
Viktor Fasth has proven to be a quick study and a welcome presence in the Ducks’ dressing room. The 30-year-old goaltender has only been with his new team for a few weeks but is talking like a confident, 10-year veteran.
Fasth starred on Monday night, making 25 saves and standing tall in the end to preserve the Ducks’ 2-1 victory over San Jose to deal the Sharks their first regulation loss. Asked about beating an elite team in the early going, the two-time goaltender of the year in the Swedish Elite League didn’t blink.
“We’re an elite team too,” Fasth said with stone-faced look. “We want to win every game. That’s why we play. It doesn’t matter which team we beat.”
Fasth is presenting Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau with an interesting dilemma as they begin a six-game road trip. Both he and Jonas Hiller figure to play with two sets of games on back-to-back nights but what assignments will Fasth get with Hiller off to a shaky start?
