The Vancouver Canucks, however, sounded Thursday like they wanted to kibosh that notion. Canucks assistant GM Laurence Gilman floated a few new ideas: that the Canucks might well hang on to Luongo, and use him in tandem with Cory Schneider; or perhaps trade Schneider.
“Anything is possible, including the prospect of going forward with both goaltenders,” said Gilman. “Everyone seems to think it’s a preordained thing that somebody is going. But anything is possible.
“Mike (GM Mike Gillis) has entertained calls on both our goaltenders. It falls into the category of problems you don’t mind having in the sense it’s better to have too many than not enough….
