Sergei Kostitsyn gives up on play, leads to Oilers shorthanded goal (Video)
Nashville Predators forward Sergei Kostitsyn took the most inopportune time to head to the bench for a line change during Sunday's game, and his team paid for it as the Edmonton Oilers scored a short-handed goal that made the difference in the game.
During a Predators power play in the third period, Kostitsyn mishandled a pass and allowed the puck to travel outside the blue...

Sergei Kostitsyn gives up on play, Oilers score
Nashville's Sergei Kostitsyn has some explaining to do. After failing to handle a pass, Kostitsyn abandoned the play, allowing Sam Gagner of the Edmonton Oilers to carry the puck in and dish it to Lennart Petrell who was able to tally a relatively easy shorthanded goal. Chalk this up as one of the most baffling, lazy plays we've seen so far in 2013. There are...
Looks like the Predators have recalled forward Taylor Beck…
According to Milwaukee Admirals winger Michael Liambas (via Twitter), the Nashville Predators have recalled Taylor Beck.
Beck leads all Admirals in scoring with 41 points in 50 games.
The Niagra Falls, Ontario, native was a third round draft pick of the Predators in 2009. If he suits up Tuesday against the Columbus Blue Jackets, it will be his NHL debut.

VIDEO: Kostitsyn quits on Edmonton’s eventual second goal…
We’ve seen Jason Arnott lag on the backcheck. We’ve seen Martin Erat make turnover after turnover inside the attacking zone. We’ve even seen Niclas Bergfors released for not playing defense.
But we’ve never seen a Nashville Predator quit in the middle of a play.
(Special thanks to SBNation for the video)

Press Release: Beck recalled

Depleted Nashville Predators falling from race
The Nashville Predators play 12 of their last 18 games at home. Theoretically, they have a chance to claw back into the playoff hunt. But they need to reverse their form quickly. The Predators struggled through a 1-4 road trip while allowing 20 goals.
Injuries wiped out forwards Patric Hornqvist, Paul Gaustad, Colin Wilson as well as defensemen Hal Gill and Scott Hannan. Some youthful...
Cheer Up, It’s Not All that Bad!
Predators' Roster = Garbage Eclair
If I know my readers, and I like to think that I do, you’re likely a little unsettled by the unabashedly positive title to this blog entry. Before you go jumping to conclusions that I’ve suffered some sort of head injury, found religion, or made some kind of consciousness transposition with Kris Martel, you should probably note the image...
Kostitsyn's bonehead move proves to be costly
The Nashville Predators return to the United States with nothing positive coming out of their Western Canadian road trip. They lost their third in-a-row to the Edmonton Oilers, 3-2 on St. Patrick's Day. “Instead of finding ways to win games, we are finding way to lose them. It isn’t good enough,” said goal scorer Roman Josi.
Nashville can’t seem to capitalize on their...
Game 30: Nashville @ Columbus – WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Predators wrap up their five-game road trip with a visit to Nationwide Arena taking on the Columbus Blue Jackets to see who will be in last place in the Central division. This road trip has been a world of hurt for the Predators getting slammed by Vancouver and Calgary and snatching defeat from the jaws of a possibly victory against Edmonton...
Predators play a good seven minutes of hockey; obviously isn't enough
The Predators need to forget everything that ever happened on this road trip. They simply have not looked like a team that cares over the last 5 games. They went 1-4, capped off by tonight's 4-3 loss to the Coumblus Blue Jackets. The Preds came out with surprising enthusiasm and were all over the home team in the...
Evening Line With Video Evidence
“I made a mistake. I went to change, I should have backchecked, but didn’t see the second guy was coming there.”
“Even if it was a 1-on-1, I should go back, it doesn’t matter if I was tired. I should have gone back and pressured him from behind.”

Flames-Predators Preview
Less than a week ago, Calgary soundly beat the Nashville Predators to extend its longest home winning stretch of the season.
Based on the way the Flames have played on the road, they'd settle for any margin of victory in the teams' next meeting.
The Flames look to avoid their first eight-game road skid in 13 years while trying to hand the Predators a season-high fifth consecutive...
Predators @ Columbus - Game 30 Preview
It's rough days for the Nashville Predators as they are slowly distancing themselves from the playoff race. They went 0-3 in the West coast, with Rinne getting chased twice. The Preds actually managed to score 9 goals in the three game trip, (0.8 more goals/game than their season average), but they let allowed 16 goals against, which, of course, just isn't good. Nashville...
