For the NHL Playoffs I’m being a homer but I have to be. If I can get the Philadelphia Flyers as an underdog which they are now I’m going to take them all day. As an underdog the Flyers are 4-1 in their last 5 games and in playoff games where they’re the underdog. Devils avoid disaster with Game 2 win

The look etched on the countenance of Bryce Salvador was not one of relief. It was the look of a man who recognized his team had received an 11th-hour pardon. And now, instead of certain death, Salvador and the New Jersey Devils have life. "We're doing everything we can to buy time so [Ilya Kovalchuk] can come back to the lineup," Salvador said, a cat-that-ate-the...

Devils Salvador gets hit in mouth while scoring empty-netter to clinch win

The New Jersey Devils turned up the heat and scored four third period goals to tie the Philadelphia Flyers in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals at one game apiece.  The four unanswered goals led to a 4-1 victory after sloppy play in the first period. The Devils now drive up the Jersey Turnpike to the friendly confines of the Prudential Center— taking away the Flyers home ice...

Rookie making playoff debut scores key goal in Devils' victory

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia Flyers goalie Ilya Bryzgalov made one big save after another until a rookie playing his first playoff game put one in. That got the New Jersey Devils going. David Clarkson followed by scoring the tiebreaking goal with 8:43 left and the Devils rallied to beat the Flyers 4-1 in Game 2 Tuesday night, evening their Eastern Conference semifinals series...

Game 2: Devils Don't Quit - Series Tied 1-1

"Tonight I'm planking but on Thursday it's all about Tebowing!!"   You couldn’t escape the fact that Ilya Kovalchuk wasn’t in the lineup last night, mainly because Pierre Maguire and Kenny Albert weren’t going to let us forget. Guess what, it didn’t matter. The Devils worked hard all night and found a way to get the job done. They kept their frustration...

Bryz Not To Blame for Flyers Poor Play in Game 2

The Philadelphia Flyers were out hustled in their 4-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday. They were out shot, out shone and out hustled. Aside from the first 10-15 minutes of the game, the Flyers were a disaster. Some fans have turned to Ilya Bryzgalov as the scapegoat for the loss. My first question is what game were these people watching? If not for Ilya Bryzgalov, the...

NEWARK, N.J. - The Devils' Alexei Ponikarovsky went to the net when a couple of Flyers decided to go to the bench. His instinctive move paid off. Devils Beat Flyers 4-1, Even Series at One

Well Philly fans, the puck is in your rink, what needs to be done for the Flyers to rebound from this game? The Flyers looked great at the start of the game, then they could not generate any offense at all. 2 shots in the 2nd period and 9 in the 3rd for a total of 20 for the game just won’t cut it. New Jersey fans, I am sure you are satisfied with the way the game played-out tonight.

Devils 4, Flyers 3 (OT)

Philadelphia bar offering ‘Crosby Tears’ as one of its draft beers

If the Flyers’ pursuit of the Stanley Cup ends this round at the hands of the Devils, at least they beat the Penguins. For many fans in the Philadelphia area, that will likely be the mindset. The Flyers knocked off the Penguins with relative ease in the opening round of the playoffs and they have certainly had their fair share of fun with it. First there was this insulting Philly...

Richard Cloutier: Oh, I Don't Know

Kings up three games to zero on the Blues. Ummm, wut? Devils leading against the Flyers, and to make matters worse, Flyers players are getting injured right and left. Martin Brodeur, who looked too old to be any good three years ago, is absolutely in the zone. The Devils will advance. In what might be the most mind-numbing series in the history of the world, the New York Rangers...
