from Scott Cruickshank of the Calgary Herald,
This season hasn’t exactly been a (father-and-son) picnic.
Brandon Sutter’s Carolina Hurricanes are stuck near the bottom of the National Hockey League standings. To be precise, 28th.
Dear old dad, a couple of time zones to the left, isn’t faring much better.
The Calgary Flames, piloted by Brent Sutter, are listing - 13th in the Western Conference, 25th overall.
“Obviously, both of us are in a position where we’re behind a little bit,” Brandon said after Monday afternoon’s practice at the Scotiabank Saddledome. “But there’s lot of hockey left, obviously, so there’s lots of time to turn it around. We are in similar positions, so it’s kind of unique that we have each other to talk to about it.”
Tonight - and not for the first time - Brandon faces his father in an NHL contest.
