The Washington Capitals have fired coach Bruce Boudreau and replaced him with Dale Hunter.
The Capitals announced the move Monday, less than a week after Boudreau reached 200 wins faster than any coach in modern NHL history.

Just hours after the Washington Capitals fired head coach Bruce Boudreau, the Carolina Hurricanes followed by canning coach Paul Maurice.
He is to be replaced by Montreal Canadians Assistant Kirk Muller.
The Hurricanes currently sit at the bottom of the Southeast Division with 20 points.
