Following the excitement of the Brad Richards signing, Glen Sather made a relatively interesting statement that the Rangers were not finished, and that they were going to look for a veteran defenseman.  With the signings of Richards, Mike Rupp, and Ruslan Fedotenko, the Rangers are now a bit stocked at the forward position, so while there are some free agent options that are intriguing, it is likely that the Rangers will pursue a trade using a spare part (Erik Christensen comes to mind) to acquire a veteran on the cheap.  When it comes to cap space, it’s safe to assume the Rangers will have about $3 million to work with after signing their five key RFAs. On the free agency side, looking at the list of who is still available, there are some good options available.  Scott Hannan would be a good addition as a tough stay-at-home guy, but the Rangers are likely to add someone who has a Stanley Cup under their belt to help guide the extremely young blue line.  Naturally, that leads ...
