Our misery has ended. In what was pretty much expected by most people in the MSM and the interweb series of tubes, the Ottawa Senators bowed out in the first round of the playoffs to the defending Stanley Cup Champion, Pittsburgh Penguins. In the process of losing in 6 games, many of them being closer than one would have thought, the Sens proved to be pretty much the team most people thought they were. A team with inconsistent goaltending at best, a blue line that has been depleted over the years and is a shadow of its former self and patchwork group of forwards that lacks a legitimate goal scorer and has a captain who sadly is aging like a normal human. While I think it would be a stretch to say this Ottawa team was manhandled by the Penguins it isn't unrealistic to think that was a possibility. Pittsburgh's best players were just that throughout the series and Ottawa's results were due in major part to huge contributions from 3rd and 4th line players like Ruutu, Neil a...
