Tim Thomas once again silenced any critics tonight. After being pulled following the second period of a game in Columbus on Saturday night, and sitting out the following game in Boston in favor of Tuukka Rask, Thomas made 47 saves tonight to lead the Bruins to a tie in points atop the Eastern Conference with the Flyers. The two teams got off to a slow start, but a great bout between Matt Carkner and Milan Lucic seemed to spark each side a little bit. Just 24 seconds after the fight, Rich Peverley scored a goal for the second straight night, giving Boston the 1-0 advantage early. Following that goal, Daniel Alfredsson, who was highlighted in last night’s recap as being a potential difference maker tonight, knotted the game at a goal apiece. However, Boston clawed back to regain a lead that they would not surrender for the remainder of the game when Chris Kelley shoved a loose puck past Ottawa net minder Craig Harrison to make it 2-1 Boston at 13:47 of the second. Boston began to pour...

Tim Thomas, Tuukka Rask Differ in Goaltending Styles, But Bruins' System Helps Make Them Interchangeable

Claude Julien has two incredibly capable goaltenders at his disposal in Tim Thomas and Tuukka Rask. And while it may be difficult at times to juggle their playing time, the decision must be made easier by the simple fact that the B's are in a great position to win regardless of who's between the pipes. A lot of that, though, stems from the Bruins' defensive system that...

Daniel Paille Returns From Injury, Thanks Kings' Dustin Brown for Hard Hit

BOSTON -- As if to test Daniel Paille's fitness to be back on the ice, Los Angeles Kings center Dustin Brown seemed to go straight at the Bruins forward early in the first period. Paille, who had been cleared by the training staff shortly before the puck dropped, took the hit from the 210-pound forward square to the center of his body, and seemed almost happy about it. "...

Patrice Bergeron, Tim Thomas, Tyler Seguin and Co. may have been off Monday, but they were busy doing some holiday shopping. The Bruins weren't shopping for themselves, though. Instead, they were at Target in Woburn shopping for toys that they intend to donate to children in area hospitals who are unable to be home for the holidays. Each player was equipped with a shopping list...

Game Day Preview: 29. Los Angeles Kings @ Boston Bruins. WE MISS YOU ALREADY ZDENO!

I feel like it's been forever since the Bruins played a game, but that's probably because Saturday night I was drowning myself in Narragansett beer and Jameson whiskey at a Christmas party with the Bruins game on in the background. It was a good win, but it came at a price. Tim Thomas was pulled before the start of the third period and Zdeno Chara left with an injury. There...

Not all the news was good for the Bruins this past week though. After staying relatively healthy for the first two months of the season, Boston has been hit with a few key injuries. Daniel Paille...
