CBS Sports Boston reports that Tim Thomas blamed the dim lighting at MSG for his less than stellar performance (just 13 saves on 17 shots) during the Rangers 4-3 over Boston yesterday. When asked if he is ready for the increased workload that awaits if backup Tuukka Rask is injured significantly, Thomas responded..."Yeah. Especially if I go to an arena with lights."Henrik Lundqvist is 17-6-2 with a 1.75 gaa and .935 sv% with five shutouts at MSG this season....is Thomas kidding me? Nothing worse than an athlete making excuses. Take your medicine like man....the so-called light issue doesn't seem to be having an effect on the Vezina frontrunning Lundqvist.Remember to follow me on Twitter & Facebook or e-mail me at nyrfan94@yahoo.com.

Do the Bruins Need to Acquire Another Goalie if Tuukka Rask Misses Significant Time?

The Bruins lost more than just a game on Saturday against the New York Islanders. They also lost Tuukka Rask to injury for an unknown amount of time. Rask won't be travelling to New York with the team on Sunday to take on the Rangers, so Michael Hutchinson will be an emergency addition for the B's. Hutchinson is 6-11-0 with a 2.62 GAA and a .920 save percentage this season...

Tuukka Rask Helped Off Ice After Apparent Injury Against Islanders

Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask stretched to his left as an Islanders' shot whipped past his outstretched glove and the net before harmlessly hitting the boards. The harm was in front of the net, where Rask's stretch left him in what appeared to be some serious pain. His attempt to snag the puck left his legs split apart and seemingly extended beyond Rask's comfort. Rask fell...

Marty Turco is back in the NHL. Today the Boston Bruins signed the veteran netminder to a one-year, $600,000 pro rated contract as reported by Pierre LeBrun. Old Goalies Never Die, They Just Skate Around Till Their Needed

The lower body  injury to Boston Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask (4-6 weeks) sent the Bruins on a wild chase to find an acceptable backup for Tim Thomas.  Now Thomas (since he is not Miikka Kiprusoff) will need some days off to get ready for the playoffs, so a good backup is essential.  The Bruins found a replacement in long time Stars (and Hawks) goalie Marty Turco.  His career stats...

The New York Rangers held their annual Garden of Dreams Casino Night last week at Gotham Hall, and Blueshirts United did a terrific job catching the action on video for those who did not attend. David Krejci's Hot Streak Alongside Milan Lucic, Tyler Seguin Could Make New Line Tough to Break Up (Video)

Tuukka Rask's injury could make life difficult for Tim Thomas and the Bruins down the stretch, but as NESN's Mark Mowers puts it, you can't count out Thomas because he's consistently proved doubters wrong throughout his career. What is evident, though, is that the B's will need to elevate their game against difficult opponents, such as the Rangers. The B's...

Sweet, Sweet Revenge! Near "No-Show" Rangers Fall in Newark

This game right here... one word ladies and gentlemen. STATEMENT. The Devils would strike early. The offense was awake, the defense was smart, and our goalie, wow. Martin Brodeur was spot on, shutting down 25 of 26 shot faced, killing off 2 Rangers power play opportunities, and holding his own against Henrik Lundqvist at the other end of the ice. New Jersey nearly dominated...

The Rangers were able to come away with a point because Brandon Dubinsky scored the game-tying goal with 3:27 to play in the third period. Up until that...

Bruins Live Blog: Injury-Depleted B's Head to New York to Take on Eastern Conference-Leading Rangers

8 a.m. ET: The Bruins once again failed in their quest to string together back-to-back wins with a 3-2 loss to the New York Islanders on Saturday at TD Garden.
