GIF via     I'm sure by this point, most of you have already heard about Tim Thomas' incident with Carl Soderberg on Tuesday. If you aren't familiar with it, check out our previous article. The incident, which resulted in a neck-full of wood for Soderberg, has been deemed "acceptable" by the NHL.'s Joe Haggerty reported that Thomas will not have a meeting with the league. As a result, it's extremely unlikely that he'll see any sort of punishment for the play, which was.... unnecessary, to say the least.     It's kind of entertaining to see what the league chooses to crack down on....     Agree? Disagree? Let us know what you think below, or on Twitter, @CamHasbrouck and @BruinsLife

Kerry Fraser- ” Tim Thomas Deserved A Match Penalty”

from Kerry Fraser of TSN, I have no 'qualms' in telling you that Tim Thomas deserved a match penalty under Rule 60.4 for the one-handed tomahawk swing with his heavy goalie stick paddle to the neck of Bruins forward Carl Soderberg. Regardless of the score or time in the game, or whether the blow was in retaliation for Thomas being contacted on the shoulder by Soderberg...

Boston Bruins sloppy against Canadiens

The Canadiens did a lot of celebrating in their 4-1 victory over the Bruins. (Photo Credit: Steve Babineau/NHLI via Getty Images) The Boston Bruins came into their showcase matchup against the Montreal Canadiens after one of their best stretches of the season.  Having won four straight games, including scoring six goals in their last three wins, it seemed like perfect timing for...

Video: Shawn Thornton's flashes his skills to beat Thomas

Shawn Thornton doesn't score many goals in the NHL. 37 to be exact in his 11-year-career.But we don't judge Thornton's play on his goal-scoring ability. We judge it on his energy, his competitiveness, his toughness and his desire to win.And every once in a blue moon, Thornton will reach deep into his bag of tricks and pull out a move that flashes on the ice and wows...

Good Puck Support Helps Create Dougie Hamilton’s First-Period Goal (Video)

After falling behind 2-0 to the Montreal Canadiens in the first period of Thursday’s game, the Boston Bruins got on the scoreboard with a goal from defenseman Dougie Hamilton. Good puck support along the wall in the attacking zone, winning 50-50 puck battles and being patient helped create the scoring chance for Hamilton, whose shot from the point found its way past Canadiens goalie...

Andrew Ference’s Impact On Bruins, Boston Won’t Be Forgotten Soon

WILMINGTON, Mass. — Sports fans like to think that the athletes they root for feel some sort of connection to the fan base and the city. Those athletes usually say the right things about how they play for the greatest fans in the world or some other throwaway line like that, but it’s often just lip service. One athlete who meant and backed it up during his time in Boston was...

Montreal Canadiens’ Speed Key To 4-1 Victory Over Boston Bruins (Video)

The Montreal Canadiens aren’t a great matchup for the Boston Bruins because of their speed and quickness in all three zones. Montreal’s speed and ability to break out quickly from the defensive zone played a major role in its impressive 4-1 victory over Boston in Thursday night’s game at TD Garden. The win gives the Canadiens a 2-0 edge in the season series, and puts them...

The balanced attack of the Boston Bruins has helped them stay relatively fresh as they prepare for their fourth game in six nights. Oilers-Bruins Preview

The high-scoring Boston Bruins surged into their last game, only to turn in one of their more lackluster efforts of the season. Getting back on track offensively could prove difficult if the Edmonton Oilers' Ben Scrivens even approaches the level of brilliance of his last outing. Boston will be facing Scrivens one game after he set an NHL record for saves in a shutout with...

Opinion: Thomas made a choice as an individual, now he must pay the price

Tim Thomas takes exception to many things, so it's not surprising that the often crotchety, outspoken and politically motivated former Bruin would take exception to someone being in his crease......and taking exception to a team with a four goal lead trying to pot one more, as long as they'd scored six against him already.  So when Bruins' winger Carl Soderberg...

Bruins-Canadiens Live: B’s Look To Keep Rolling As They Finally Welcome Habs To Town

11 a.m.: The wait is finally over. The Boston Bruins welcome the Montreal Canadiens to TD Garden on Thursday night for the first time this season.
