Thomas Vanek Played in his 500th game last night in the National Hockey League, all of them for the Buffalo Sabres. And oh boy, did he celebrate this in style in a 5-4 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs. Vanek scored two goals, one of which ended up being the game winning goal, and also had two assists, for a four point night overall. For these efforts, he was given the first star of the night. He has scored 220 goals and 199 assists, good for 416 points in his 500 games. Thomas Vanek, keep being awesome, and here is to another 500 games, hopefully for the Buffalo Sabres.
