Some Bruins fans may have been wishing that the lockout would be just the rest that Tim Thomas needed, and that the veteran goalkeeper would be back for the B’s when the truncated seasons begins Jan. 19. That’s not the case, but Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli did have some good news when he chatted with the media Sunday morning as the Bruins prepare to finally play hockey. NESN’s Naoko Funayama reports that Chiarelli expects Thomas to be back and ready to play next year. Peter Chiarelli confirms Tim Thomas will not be coming to camp or playing this year. But says Thomas wants to play next season. #Bruins— Naoko Funayama (@NaokoFunayama) January 13, 2013 Click here for the full Bruins schedule for 2013>> Click here for the Bruins’ training camp schedule>> Click here for the NHL schedule for 2013>>

There has been a lot of talk about how players are going to handle the 48-game slate this season. The Boston Bruins are an interesting team in the sense that just about every spot on the club’s forward core is set. No, honestly. You have your first line featuring Milan Lucic, Nathan Horton, and David Krejci.
