Steve Zipay is reporting via twitter that forward Todd White has been assigned to the Connecticut Whale of the AHL after clearing waivers earlier today. White has only played in 18 games with the Rangers this season, and in that time recorded just a goal and an assist. His ice time was steadily decreasing each game he played, as did his value to the club, so this was bound to happen eventually. White was acquired over the summer from the Atlanta Thrashers in exchange for Donald Brashear and Patrick Rismiller. His $2.375 million cap hit will now be removed from the Rangers' cap.
