Dammit Bruins. What the HELL happened to you? What happened to the team with heart and desire? What happened to the team that gave their all? What happened to the team that gave EVERYTHING on the ice no matter what? Did that team get replaced during the lockout? The Bruins have been absolutely DISGUSTING this series. If the Bruins had someone like Fleury instead of Rask they would've been making tee times days ago and Toronto would already be celebrating making it to the second round. Toronto is a team that quite obviously wants it more. This isn't even up for debate. Boston should be playing like a team with nothing to lose. Instead they're playing like a team that just doesn't care. This isn't an issue that can be pinned on any one player. EVERYONE other than Rask should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. How embarrassing has this team been? It's one thing to go all out and lose. No team wins 100% of the time. No team ever has. If you w...

Brad Marchand throws water bottle on ice before overtime

Boston Bruins head coach Claude Julien was trying to get Nathan Horton’s attention prior to the overtime, presumably to tell him something about the Toronto Maple Leafs forward line they sent out.  It was rocking in the TD Garden and Horton couldn’t hear him.  A bunch of Bruins players started banging their sticks and hollering to get his attention, but it was Brad Marchand...

Milan Lucic's handshake is a bit personal

Milan Lucic did a lot of things really well in Boston's unbelievable Game 7 victory over Toronto. Lucic scored a goal, added an assist and had the best handshake we've seen so far in the 2013 playoffs. When it came to the handshake line after their OT victory, Lucic got a bit personal with Toronto captain Dion Phaneuf. This is also PDL's first time embedding a...

Tuukka Rask Feeds Joffrey Lupul A Blocker Sandwich In Game 7

Things got a bit testy towards the ends of the second period in the Bruins-Leafs Game 7 in Boston, with both teams getting in each others’ faces. Tuukka Rask didn’t take too kindly to Joffrey Lupul intruding into his personal space and decided to let that be known via a nice blocker sandwich right to the grillmix. Zdeno Chara provided the desert with a glove to the face of his...

Here's Crazy Jack Edwards' call of the Bruins Game 7 OT winner

When the Bruins defeated the Maple Leafs in overtime on Patrice Bergeron's goal, completing an epic Game 7 comeback in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, my first thought was this: I wonder if Jack Edwards survived. The Bruins play by play man is a little crazy (he even admits to that in his Twitter bio) and a Hawk Harrelson level homer.  Sometimes his craziness...

Lucic gives Phaneuf postgame cup check

The Bruins forced overtime after scoring two goals in the waning minutes of Monday’s Game 7 against the Maple Leafs.  Following Boston’s 4-3 overtime win, Bruins’ tough guy Martin Lucic went through the handshake line and happily shook nowhere near the Leafs’ Dion Phaneuf’s hand.

Boston Strong Boston Bruins

Game seven will go down in Boston lore Glory Days Grill is a popular chain of sports bars in the Maryland/DC area and for the longest time the one in Burke, Virginia could not have been a more depressing place. On one hand, Washington was getting blown out in their own game seven on home ice and this happens to be in Washington territory. The other side of things is that a small...

Eastern Conference Quarterfinals Game 7: Toronto Maple Leafs at Boston Bruins. LIVING ON A PRAYER!

I honestly had no idea we'd be here right now. I had this series done, circled on the calendar as the final blow being last Friday because the Bruins were feeling it. I picked the Leafs in six, but after the first four games I thought there was no way that Toronto fights back.  Then Game 5 happened... Then Game 6 happened... And here we sit. The Bruins fanbase...

Bruins Vs. Maple Leafs: Keys To Game 7

The Bruins go into game 7 with their back against the walls. The league is mocking them, Toronto is mocking them, and Bruins fans are as upset as they have been in years. Why? The series could have been closed out in game 5 at home. But the Bruins came out with no energy, emotion, or urgency. Then the Bruins lost in game 6 as well because they couldn't put the puck in the net...

Bruins beat Leafs in OT as the city of Toronto falls silent

After scoring the game tying goal with under a minute left in regulation, Boston’s Patrice Bergeron scored the game-winning goal 6:05 into overtime as the Bruins beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-4 in Game 7 Monday night. With a 4-1 lead in the third period the Maple Leafs looked primed to complete their comeback after more »

Milan Lucic gives Dion Phaneuf a post-game hand shake in the wrong spot

Milan Lucic, obviously excited over the Bruins' epic Game 7 come back against the Maple Leafs, shook something other than Dion Phaneuf's hand in the post-game.

Bruins bury game-winning overtime goal against Maple Leafs

After going down 4-1 early in the third period, the Boston Bruins completed an epic comeback, scoring this game-winning goal to beat the Maple Leafs.

NHL Playoff Observations -- Monday

Just a few things that caught my eye: Chris Hadfield returned to Earth at 10:31 p.m. Eastern time a sad man -- Canada's space station commander is a HUGE Leafs' fan. No wonder he had a hard time getting out of the space capsule. He had to dry his tears first. Andrew Ference arrived at the arena in a walking boot. Wade Redden was a late scratch. And...

Bruins-Maple Leafs Live: B’s Head Back to Toronto Looking to Close Out Leafs in Game 6

8 a.m ET: The Bruins have unfinished business, and if they’re unable to take care of it Sunday night in Toronto, it’s going to get really, really uncomfortable for the B’s. Boston heads back to Toronto on Sunday night for Game 6 of their first-round series with the Maple Leafs, where the Bruins will make their second attempt to close out the series. Boston, who holds the 3...

Bruins-Maple Leafs Live: B’s Pushed to Brink, Look to Once Again Eliminate Leafs in Game 7

8 a.m. ET: Just a few days ago, it seemed like the Bruins were a lock to advance to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. The B’s held a 3-1 lead in their series with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and all seemed good for the Black and Gold. However, as has been the case for much of the year, inconsistency caught up with the Bruins, and now they’re left to play a Game 7 with...
