Due to a slow news week for the Nashville Predators, I thought about coming up with a fun post that includes a Top 5 and fan reaction. This Top 5 topic is a about home games. Read my Top 5 home games for the Predators, then give me your top 5 in the comments after the jump.

Josh Harding - Minnesota Wild v Nashville Predators

5. Edmonton Oilers: Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 7 PM

Ah, the early games of the season where is nice to just kick back and enjoy the hockey game. That is what you will just do when people are watching the highly skilled offensive team they have. With Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Nail Yakupov, Jordan Eberle and Taylor Hall on one team, you just have to watch and see how great these players will be one day.

Mark this game on you calender people. You want to see young talent? Well, here it is.

4. Minnesota Wild: Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 7 PM

This game will be the last meeting between the Predators and the Wild and Suter for the rest of the regular season. As you can read in the number two game, Suter will not be well-liked in Nashville on game day.

These two teams could be battling it out for a playoff spot in early March. This game is most likely going to have more meaning than the game in December. The hard feelings towards Suter is not gone, but now the focus is winning. In the heat of a playoff spot, the Predators can't be too emotional.

3. Philadelphia Flyers: Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 7 PM

When the Philadelphia Flyers come to town, it is always fun to watch. Unfortunately, the last two times they came to Nashville, I have been out of town and have only watch the replays. There are always hard hitting, physical and fast paced games, the best games to watch.

Also, it is great to see former Predators, Scott Hartnell and Kimmo Timonen play. The talent the Flyers have is spectacular and keeps you on the edge of your seat.

2. Minnesota Wild: Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 7 PM

Ever since Ryan Suter has signed with the Minnesota Wild with Zach Parise, Preds fans have had this game circled on their calender. Once Suter steps onto the ice Saturday night, in front of a sold-out crowd, he will anything but kind words yelled at him.

This will be the first meeting between the two teams and the first time Suter will play against the Nashville Predators. You can guarantee that it will not be a friendly meeting between the fans and Suter at the start of the month.

1. Detroit Red Wings: Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 7 PM

This is the last home game of the regular season and fan appreciation night. But what a better opponent to close out the regular season at Bridgestone Arena than the hated rivals of the Detroit Red Wings. Bridgestone Arena will be a guaranteed packed house with zero seats available.

With "fan favorite", Jordin Tootoo playing with the Red Wings, it adds a bit more spice into the match-up that was already there. Smashville doesn't like Tootoo now, and will be verbally attacking him through chants.

So, let's round this out on why this is the best home game of the season. A) Playing against the Detroit Red Wings, B) Fan Appreciation Night and C) Jordin Tootoo is on the rival's team. That sounds like a great night to me.

Electing for Arbitration: What is Sergei Kostitsyn Worth?

Photo by: Mark Humphrey/Associated Press Another off-season and another Predator player is going into arbitration. For those of you not familiar with the arbitration process sometimes it can be good for a team in order to give them time to hash out a better contract with the player. Other times it is the go-to measure for a player who feels he is not getting paid what his skill...

Blues still in market for a defenseman

The Blues entered the NHL's free agency period searching for a top-four defenseman. They are still searching. They were priced out of the Ryan Suter sweepstakes and quickly turned their attention to Plan B: Matt Carle. But although St. Louis was heavily involved in talks with the former Philadelphia Flyer, Carle signed a six-year, 33 million contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning...

Wild's prospects welcome big-name additions

ST. PAUL, Minn. Charlie Coyle was glued to Twitter to track the latest in the Zach Parise and Ryan Suter free-agent sweepstakes. Marco Scandella found out the news by watching TSN, the big sports station in Canada, where Scandella is from. For four days at the beginning of July, the Parise and Suter rumors were tracked by everyone in the game and the fans who follow it. Coyle and...

John Jaeckel: Nicky, We Hardly Knew Ye

Follow me @jaeckel I was taken a little by surprise that the Blackhawks might trade Nick Leddy—for the right return—when a source told me it was a possibility in the wake of Johnny Oduya's contract extension a number of weeks back. Then, scuttlebutt creeped out that the Hawks were "infuriated" that Leddy's agent, Neil Sheehy—who is also Ryan...

Free agent signees hope to revitalize Wild

The Minnesota Wild joined the big boys in the NHL. On July 4, going head-to-head against powerhouse teams like the Detroit Red Wings, Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Chicago Blackhawks, the Wild landed the two biggest free agents in the NHL when it signed New Jersey Devils captain Zach Parise and Nashville Predators defenseman Ryan Suter. "They drove this bus...

HockeyBuzz Hotstove: Hotstove Buy/Sell: Minnesota Returning to Playoffs?

Welcome to the Hotstove! As always, I'm your host, Travis Yost. Much ado has been made in hockey-proud state of Minnesota after two high-profile additions via free agency. Both Zach Parise -- formerly of the New Jersey Devils -- and Ryan Suter -- formerly of the Nashville Predators -- signed thirteen year, $98M contracts, and both spoke candidly about a paradigm shift within...

Signing Carle strengthens Lightning's defense

The Tampa Bay Lightning finished off their summer shopping by landing one of the big names in the free agent market -- defenseman Matt Carle. Hours after Ryan Suter -- the top defenseman available in free agency -- signed a deal to go to the Minnesota Wild, the Lightning quickly zeroed in on Carle, signing the 27-year-old to a six-year contract worth $33 million. Combined with...

Wildly amusing: Dater ‘illustrates’ lack of sympathy for owners in CBA negotiations

Strange times, folks, these are strange times. The Hockey News’s Adam Proteau tried very hard to explain to fans that the NHLPA’s members have every right to battle for their slice of the revenue pie, but in adding too many “they’re like movie stars and we don’t get angry at them for being paid what they pay” references, his article came off sounding too similar to the...
