Found January 29, 2012 on NorthWest Sports Beat:

With the Vancouver Canucks Alex Edler and Daniel Sedin & Henrik Sedin together on Team Alfie in Ottawa this past week, while Cody Hodgson explores the dark side of Team Chara, the rest of the Canucks have had to keep themselves busy.

Just what have they been up to this whole time?

Here are five of the hottest rumours around town about what some of the rest of the team members have been doing to kill time.

1. Raymond

Mason Raymond has been packing several suitcases in anticipation of several supposed trades. Right now his bags are waiting in his hallway with such proposed destination tags as Montreal, Anaheim and Dallas. At least Boston is not an option… yet.

2. Rome

Aaron Rome has secretly flown off to his Italian city namesake to ask the Pope to bless his stick, so he can get back to the miraculous scoring streak he was on earlier in the year.

3. Hansen

Jannik Hansen is on low dose testosterone treatments to bring his voice down out of the cartoon character range, and into the human realm, in a bid to deepen his appeal to Pamela Anderson following her surprise visit to the Rogers Centre last week.

4. Gills

GM Mike Gillis has been working on an alternative to a trade this year by talking to the scientists up at UBC on how to develop a youth serum to bring back a healthy, in his prime Trevor Linden for this year’s playoff run (while also liberating him from those hokey Clearly Contacts ads).

5. CoHo

Cory Schneider and BC Lions quarterback Travis Lulay have been duking it out for the prize of Vancouver’s finest redhead athlete.

Top prize: a free get out of jail card for the next reviled ‘Kick a Ginger’ day.

Well Canucks fans, have you seen any of the rest of the team around town during the break? Do you know what they might have been up to for the past week?

Blackhawks vs. Canucks Game 50: Woooah, We’re Halfway There

Gut Check Time Once the Hawks and Canucks face off Tuesday night, we can officially say that this season is over the hill.  We’ll be able to say the unofficial 2nd half has begun. Obviously 41 is half of 82 and this is Game 50, but if we are looking at the Canucks as Stanley Cup favourites, 50 is actually less than halfway to the amount of games the Canucks played last season...

Vancouver Canucks Kevin Bieska Gets Patted By Little Fans (Video)

In possibly one of the cuter videos that has been posted on this website, watch these little girls have a little fun at the expense of Vancouver Canucks star Kevin Bieksa. Watch as they play with Kevin during a break of the Canucks Super Skills competition: (Courtesy of Bob's Blitz)

Chicago Blackhawks vs. Canucks Betting Odds & Handicapping Preview

The Rivalry Resumes Is it just me or do the Vancouver Canucks have more rivals than anyone else in the NHL? On Tuesday the Canucks begin the second half of their season at home against one of their more heated and hated rivals, the Chicago Blackhawks. Chicago Blackhawks (29-15-6) at Vancouver Canucks (30-15-4) When: 10:00 PM ET, Tuesday, January 31, 2012 Where: Rogers Arena,...

Ian Esplen: All Canucks All Star Team

Follow me on Twitter for random hockey talk, question and answer sessions, and the odd witty tweet Twitter Buttons Seeing as the All-Star Game is this afternoon, I thought it would be nice to look back at past Canucks who have played in the game and make an all Canucks all-star team. Goalie Starter- Roberto Luongo- 07, 09 Luongo is my starter because he’s played...

Brenden Morrow… Could They? Would They?

Whenever there’s less than a month to go before the NHL trade deadline (February 27 this year), there are bound to be lots of wild rumours bouncing off the walls. One such wild rumour had Corey Perry on his way to the Vancouver Canucks for Corey Schneider, Keith Ballard and Mason Raymond. This is of course a ridiculous trade, one that doesn’t meet the Ducks needs at all. Yet...

Canucks vs Blackhawks. It’s go time!

Chicago Blackhawks vs Vancouver Canucks There is no surprise what is forthcoming when these two teams meet up as the rivalry between the two is quite a heated one to say the least. It seems that the rivalry between the Vancouver Canucks and the Boston Bruins is slightly more hostile compared to the Chicago rivalry [...]

Blackhawks-Canucks Preview

The Vancouver Canucks and Chicago Blackhawks both expect to continue their respective pushes for the top spot in the Western Conference in the final months of the season. Trying to avoid a third straight defeat, the Blackhawks' pursuit of that goal could get an immediate boost if two of their top players return from injuries when they open a nine-game road trip against the Canucks...

THE Recap: Vancouver Canucks at the 2012 All-Star Game

All Star Festivities All-Star Weekend has come and passed and on Tuesday the league will return to its hard-hitting violent conclusion of the season. If you went into this weekend with low expectations however (as I do yearly) you might have been surprised to find yourself actually entertained in large parts (as I am yearly). The weekend still seems more of a televised corporate...
