Blackhawks forward Troy Brouwer tried to be a hero in last night's game against the Canadiens, but instead wound up a zero. An injured zero. Brouwer went for a big hit on Lars Eller midway through the third period but ended up completely whiffing on the check, sending himself flying into the boards and injuring his shoulder in the process. He didn't return to the game and is due to be reevaluated today. Keep in mind the Blackhawks are currently tied for seventh in the Western Conference and still have yet to lock up a playoff birth with only three games to play. The last thing they really need is an injury, never mind a self-sustained injury. But, on the plus side, Brouwer will have plenty of time to get his eyes checked while he's recovering from the shoulder injury. And give the guy a break, he did lay some pretty solid contact on the referee by the boards.
